General characteristics
Diesel fuel is a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum by distillation and hydrogenation refining, boiling in the range of 150 to 370°C. Diesel fuel grades can contain additives to improve their utility characteristics as depressants, detergents, lubrication additives and corrosion inhibitors.
