General characteristics
Diesel fuel is a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum by distillation and hydrogenation refining, boiling in the range of 150 to 370°C. Diesel fuel grades can contain additives to improve their utility characteristics as depressants, detergents, lubrication additives and corrosion inhibitors.
Diesel fuel enriched with an additive offers some improved properties of the fuel:
the anti-corrosion property of the fuel extends the service life of the engine protects its sensitive parts
with its composition, it suppresses the formation of emulsions and sediments, which protects the engine from wear, reduces its noise and diminishes mechanical stress of the crank mechanism of the engine
thanks to lower foaming it facilitates refuelling of vehicles at refuelling stations
